This Day In NCHSAA History

September 2, 2000             On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Cline Ingle of Burns High School booted the longest field goal in NCHSAA history when he kicked a 61 yarder against Shelby. Fittingly, he eclipsed the old NCHSAA record of 58 yards set by Shelby’s Tyler Ashe in 1995.

Former Coach Killed In One-Car Accident

     A former coach in Rowan County was killed in a one-car accident earlier this week, according to the Salisbury Post.      Highway Patrol officials identified the victim in a fatal Tuesday morning crash on Sherrills Ford Road as Darrell Coy Misenheimer, 57, of Salisbury.      Trooper D.M.
