Northwest Guilford Names Swimming Coach

        GREENSBORO– Gia Wright has been named head swimming coach at Northwest Guilford High School, according to a report in the Greensboro News and Record.

        A Florida native, Wright attended North Carolina A&T State University. She earned a bachelor's degree in secondary English education as well as a master’s in English and African American Literature and was an excellent swimmer on the university’s swim team.

        She was captain of the team at her alma mater for two seasons and earned the award as N.C. A&T Senior Athlete of the Year in 2008.

         Wright served as an assistant swimming coach at A&T for the past six seasons. She is an English teacher at Aycock Middle School in Greensboro.
