WEEK 3 | Students from Monroe and Foard Receive Performance of the Week awards

CHAPEL HILL— Salen Streater from Monroe High School and Corey Siemer from Foard High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators.

Streater, a senior on the Monroe football team, averaged more than 50 yards per reception as he hauled in 4 catches for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns.  His offensive production helped lead Monroe to a victory over Jay M. Robinson by a score of 47-14.

Siemer was given the ball early and often in Foard’s Friday night matchup with Draughn High School.  The senior running back carried the ball 34 times, totaling 313 rushing yards to go with 5 touchdowns.

Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages. They will also be honored at a banquet for all recipients from this year in April. The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
