Chapel Hill, NC – This September, United Healthcare and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association teaming up for the “UHC Sidelines Hunger” program to fight hunger across the state of North Carolina.
Schools from across the state are participating by collecting canned and non-perishable food items for a food drive blitz week beginning September 8. Here are the participating schools:
Cape Fear High School
Forest Hills High School
Hertford County High School
Hickory Ridge High School
High Point Central High School
North Davidson High School
Oxford Preparatory School
Southern Durham High School
Topsail High School
TW Andrews High School
West Charlotte High School
The teams from regional groups who collect the most food during the food drive will win cash awards, and those with the most and best social media updates will win a pizza party! Food drives will take place at the schools from Friday, September 8 through Friday, September 15. Post to social media using #UHCSidelinesHunger and tag @NCHSAA to show how the food drives are taking place on campus. These schools will be helping food banks throughout North Carolina helping to end hunger in their local communities.
