This Day In NCHSAA History

May 8, 1970 Barbara Keller of Hickory won the first-ever North Carolina High School Athletic Association women's singles tennis championship in Chapel Hill. Although many people knew the school as Hickory High, it was formally known as Claremont Central High School for many years.
