27th ANNUAL NCHSAA DUAL TEAM WRESTLING BRACKETS SET

The brackets for the 2016 NCHSAA Dual Team Wrestling Championships have been completed and posted in the brackets section of the NCHSAA Website.

The 1A Classification field will consist of 20 teams, with all other classifications fielding 32 teams for the tournament.

Competition will begin tomorrow, February 2, 2016, with the first and second round at local host sites. The third round and regional round will be on February 4. State Championships will be held on February 6.

Last Year

The 4A crown went to Jack Britt, capturing their first team NCHSAA championship in any sport, by defeating Southeast Guilford 42-22.

Fred T. Foard took down Morehead 30-23 in the 3A Championship. It was the third consecutive year the two schools met in the state finals.

In 2A West Lincoln jumped on Croatan early, 16-0, before racing to a 49-19 win, capturing the dual team title for the first time since winning the 1A/2A crown in 1990.

2015 also saw a rematch in 1A as Mitchell defeated Chatham Central for the second straight year, this time by a 42-30 score.
