2025 Women’s Soccer Championship Game Notes

1A Championship Match
Wake Prep Academy vs. Mountain Island Charter

Wake Prep and Mountain Island Charter are both making their NCHSAA Women’s Soccer Championship Match debuts on Saturday. The Guardians enter the match 15-7-1 on the year with a 6-6 record out of the Super Six 1A/2A Conference while the Raptors from Mountain Island Charter are 19-5 with an 11-3 record in the Catawba Shores Athletic 1A/2A Conference. The Raptors are led by Harmoni Carter’s 32 goals and Cheyenne Painter’s 33 assists this year. MIC has scored 121 goals this season while allowing just 19 while Wake Prep has found the net 80 times and allowed 42. 

2A Championship Match
Franklin Academy vs. Pine Lake Prep

Franklin Academy is making its sixth all-time appearance in the NCHSAA Women’s Soccer State Championship match but its first since 2021. The Patriots are 1-4 in their previous appearances, with the lone title coming in 2017. Pine Lake Prep is making its second appearance after debuting last season. The Pride fell in penalty kicks to Seaforth in the 2024 title match. 

Franklin enters this match undefeated this season, 24-0 and 12-0 in the Super Six 1A/2A Conference. They have outscored opponents 146-11 this season. Pine Lake Prep is 20-2 on the year but is on a 19-game winning streak. They have outscored opponents 149-27 this year and 14 of those goals allowed came in their early-season losses to Charlotte Latin and Hough. 

3A Championship Match
Western Alamance vs. South Point

Western Alamance is making its NCHSAA Women’s Soccer Championship Match debut this weekend while South Point is making its third appearance. The Red Raiders are still looking for their first title and came agonizingly close last year, losing in penalty kicks to Jacksonville. The Red Raiders are 21-3-2 this season with a 14-0 record in the Big South Conference. They have outscored opponents 131-14 this season. Western Alamance in 23-0-1 on the year, going 11-01 in the Central Conference. Their only tie came against Eastern Alamance back on April 21. The Warriors have outscored opponents 144-15 this year. Kayley Lee leads Western Alamance with 31 goals and 37 assists. For South Point, Mackenzie Crill leads the team with 24 goals. 

4A Championship Match
Ashley vs. Ardrey Kell

The Ashley Screaming Eagles are back in the State Championship Match for the third year in a row after losing to Ardrey Kell 3-2 in 2023 and Marvin Ridge 2-1 in 2024. The Knights from Ardrey Kell are making their sixth all-time appearance in the State Championship Match and are 1-4 in their previous appearances.  The Knights are 22-3-4 this year with a 10-2 record in the So Meck Conference and they have outscored their opponents 117-18 this year. Ashley is 22-2-2 this year with a 12-2 record in the Mideastern 3A/4A Conference. They have outscored their opponents 129-15 this year. This match is a rematch of an April 14th match at Ardrey Kell. That match ended in a 1-1 tie.
