CHAPEL HILL— The 11th annual Wrestling Hall of Fame Day is scheduled for the Friday Center here on Sunday, May 19.
The North Carolina class of 2013 honorees for the state chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum will be recognized at the event.
Five outstanding individuals in the sport of wrestling in our state, involved either as a coach, official or contributor, will be recognized with “Lifetime Service to Wrestling” awards. The honorees include Larry Carpenter, Steve Morgan, West Lamoureaux, Jack Embree, Jr., and Ralph Sandiford.
The Outstanding American from North Carolina award will be presented to brigadier general Thomas Gorry.
The honorees will be permanently recognized at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
