MILLERS CREEK— West Wilkes High School has a new head football coach, according to the Wilkes Journal-Patriot.

David Hunt becomes the head coach at West Wilkes after serving the last six years as an assistant coach at Scotland, where he was the junior varsity head coach and coached both linebackers and defensive line during his stint as a varsity assistant.

Hunt graduated from Burch High School in Delbarton, West Virginia, and then played collegiately at Concord University in West Virginia. He earned his master’s at East Carolina.
