ELIZABETHTOWN— West Bladen High School achieved a couple of performances for the North Carolina High School football Record Book in its last regular season game.
Receiver Malcolm Vaught caught 20 passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns as West fell to Terry Sanford 44-20. Vaught’s 20 receptions in a single game is second on the all-time chart and his 357 yards is the most receiving yards in a single game.
Quarterback Zack Wilcox also earned performance listings from the game by completing 39 of 58 passes for 447 yards. The 39 completions is the fourth best mark in a single game, behind the state record of 43 held by Drew Davis of East Chapel Hill established in a 2011 game against Carrboro.
