Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.  

The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week nine of NCHSAA competition are Sophie Harris from East Surry and Nishant Srinivasa of Triangle Math & Science Academy.

Harris, a sophomore golfer for the Cardinals, won the Foothills 2A Conference Tournament last week by 13 strokes with a 43-35—78 at Pilot Knob Park. Harris was also named the conference Golfer of the Year for the second year in a row. 

Srinivasa, a sophomore cross country runner for the Tigers, posted a new personal and school record of 17:38.34 in the Central Tar Heel Conference Championship last week. The team also won the conference title and Nishant was named conference Runner of the Year.
