WEEK 33 | 2023-24 ORTHOCAROLINA PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK

Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.  

The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week 33 of NCHSAA competition are Kendall Rumans from Franklin and Evan Kuehnel from Western Alamance.

Rumans, a sophomore Softball player for the Panthers, was outstanding at the plate and pitching this week. In their game against, Tuscola, she hit two home runs including a grand slam. She paired this with an 11 strikeout game. She went on to pitch a complete game shutout with six strikeouts against Pisgah and added two more home runs. In one week, Rumans had an ERA of 1.33, 17 strikeouts, 4 home runs, and 8 RBIs. 

Kuehnel, a senior Lacrosse player for the Warriors, had an amazing week on the field. In three games he tallied 22 goals, three assists, and 14 ground balls. He was a huge part of Western Alamance’s undefeated and he even netted a game winner in one of their big wins.
