Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.
The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week 25 of NCHSAA competition are Myron McKoy from Heide Trask and Leena McField from Northern Guilford.
McKoy, a senior men’s basketball player for the Titans, led Heide Trask to a 13 point victory in overtime after being down 18 points in the third quarter. Myron finished the game with an outstanding 41 points, 10 assists, and 7 steals in their 82-69 win versus West Columbus.
McField, a freshman women’s basketball player from Northern Guilford, was tremendous in the Nighthawk’s 76-25 victory over Ragsdale. Leena had a double-double scoring 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. She has been a huge part of Northern Guilford’s 17 game win streak and their 14-0 conference record.
