Wakefield Qb Throws For 461 Yards

RALEIGH— Wakefield quarterback Connor Mitch had another terrific performance throwing the football in last week’s 56-20 victory over Raleigh Sanderson.

Mitch, according to accounts in the Raleigh News and Observer, completed 30 of 43 passes for 461 yards and seven touchdowns in the victory.

The total of 461 yards passing is tied for 12th all-time in terms of single game passing performances in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book. It was the third time that Mitch has thrown seven touchdown passes in a single game during his career.

Last year he connected for seven scores and threw for a state-record 605 yards in a 67-58 victory over Leesville Road.
