Voyager Names New Men’s Basketball Coach

DURHAM- Voyager Academy has named a new men’s varsity basketball coach, according to a press release from the school.

Mike Huff will take over the Varsity Boys program at the school, replacing Patrick Walton.  Huff served as the Head JV Boys Basketball coach the last two seasons and also served as an assistant on the varsity staff.

"Huff possesses a high level of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for coaching basketball," Voyager Academy athletic director Mike Germino said. "He will be a valuable asset for the boys in our program."

Huff spoke on the recent appointment,  "I'm honored to have been selected to be the Varsity Boys basketball coach at Voyager Academy.  We have a very talented team coming back next season.  I believe if we can stay healthy and continue to improve we should be one of the top 1-A teams in the state.  I'm thankful that we have a supportive administration and group of parents that help make coaching at Voyager a very positive experience, and I'm very excited about this opportunity."

The Vikings play in the North Central Athletic Conference, which is in the 1-A classification of the NCHSAA.
