Unusual Community Service Project—With Pumpkins

HAMPSTEAD—The Topsail High School baseball team has been involved with a number of community service projects, but this one might be a little unusual.

         It involves pumpkins—lots of pumpkins.

The Wilmington Star-News reported that members of the Topsail baseball team helped Hampstead United Methodist Church unload a shipment of pumpkins and set up the church’s annual pumpkin patch.  The players helped unload more than 3,500 pumpkins one Saturday morning to assist the church’s efforts.

Congratulations to the Topsail baseball team for its service!
