WAYNESVILLE—  Brandon Allen has been named as the new head football coach at Tuscola High School, according to multiple media reports.

The 36-year-old coach has been approved by the Haywood County Schools and comes to Tuscola after one year as the head coach of North Buncombe.

Allen, a graduate of Pisgah High School, served as an assistant coach at Tuscola for four years prior to last season and has also coached at Mountain Heritage. Allen will replace Donnie Kiefer, who resigned last month after five years at the helm.

Tuscola posted a 4-8 mark in 2011.
