HAMPSTEAD—Topsail has named James “Jim” Clanahan as the new head coach in women’s basketball, according to a report in the Wilmington Star-News after a press release from the school.

Clanahan is a social studies teacher and assistant football coach at Topsail, but he has extensive experience coaching high school basketball in Georgia.

Clanahan will take over Sarah Graves, who left Topsail earlier to take a position teaching at an elementary school. Topsail posted a 13-12 record last season.
