Thurman Jordan Takes Hillside Basketball Reins

         DURHAM—Hillside High School has named Thurman Jordan as its new men’s basketball coach, according to various media reports including HighSchoolOT.com and the Durham Herald-Sun.

         Jordan previously had coached at Holly Springs, and had left Franklinton in 2006 to be the first men’s basketball coach at what was then a new Wake County high school.  He also served as an assistant football and track coach at Franklinton and posted an 80-49 mark as head basketball coach there. .

         His most recent Holly Springs posted a 10-15 record and placed fourth in the Southwest Wake Athletic Conference after making the NCHSAA playoffs for three consecutive seasons.

         Jordan replaces Crasten Davis, who guided the Hillside program for three years.

         The new Hillside coach is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and played high school basketball at Vance High School in Henderson.
