T.C. Roberson Names New Football Coach

ASHEVILLE—T.C. Roberson High School has named Chris Deal as its new head football coach, according to a press release from the school.

Deal comes to T.C. Roberson after three seasons at Emerald High School in Greenswood, S.C., as offensive coordinator.  He also has extensive experience in North Carolina, most recently during 2010-11 at Patton High School in Burke County.

From 2007 to 2010, he served as head coach at Lexington High School and came to Lexington after a stint as head coach at Alexander Central, starting in 2001.

Deal replaces Jim Beatty, who resigned and headed to the collegiate ranks for a job at Mars Hill University as offensive line coach. Beatty is a graduate of Mars Hill.

The Rams went 4-8 during the 2013 season and lost in the first round of the NCHSAA 4-A playoffs to North Davidson.
