MONROE—Veteran coach Tad Baucom has been named the new head football coach at Sun Valley High School, according to Doug Jones, Union County Public Schools director of athletics, and various media reports.

        Baucom comes to Sun Valley after serving as head coach at Central Academy in Union County and has also coached at Monroe and Topsail.

        He will take over for Paul Hall at Sun Valley.
