STUDENTS FROM WEST IREDELL & REIDSVILLE EARN PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK AWARDS

CHAPEL HILL— LucyAnn Ferguson from West Iredell High School and Titus Jones from Reidsville High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week awards.

Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from media and school administrators.

Ferguson, a senior on the volleyball team, helped lead West Iredell to sole possession of first place in the Northwestern Foothills 2A conference. In a Monday win against Fred T. Foard, the outside hitter had 25 kills, three aces and two blocks. She added 16 kills and two more aces against Draughn pushing her season total to 206 kills on her way to 1000 career kills.

Jones, senior quarterback for the Rams football team, led Reidsville past Northwest Guilford 47-3. He threw for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns, completing 15 of his 21 pass attempts. He also rushed for three scores on the night. He has now thrown for 1079 yards on the season while completing 68% of his passes.

Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages. They will also be honored at a banquet for all recipients from this year in early May. The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
