State Championship Coach Headed To College Ranks

HENDERSONVILLE— Hendersonville High School head volleyball coach Brooke Stanley, who guided her team to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state championship in the fall, is headed to the collegiate ranks, according to the Asheville Citizen-Times.

She has reportedly resigned from the Henderson County school to take a position as an assistant volleyball at Albany in New York.

Stanley is a 2011 graduate of Albany, where she played volleyball. She is the daughter of NCHSAA Hall of Fame coach Jan Stanley, who for several years was the winningest head coach ever in volleyball until her career total was surpassed this season by Sherry Norris of Chapel Hill.

Hendersonville posted a 21-6 record in winning the 1-A crown in 2012.
