DUDLEY—Dixie Ramirez of Southern Wayne High School recently earned her spot with some elite company in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association women’s soccer record book.
Ramirez scored all nine of her team’s goals in a 9-0 non-conference victory over North Lenoir. That is second all-time in individual scoring in a single women’s soccer game, and Ramirez is one of five players to have achieved that record.
The single-game record is 10, held by Katie Tucker of Myers Park and set in 2002.
Our thanks to Rudy Coggins of the Goldsboro News-Argus for supplying the information and documenting the record.
