FOUR OAKS—South Johnston High School has promoted Hunter Jenks to its head football coaching position, according to various media reports including HighSchoolOT.com.
Jenks has been the defensive coordinator at South Johnston for the past three seasons and will take over the head coaching job from Shane Dular, who resigned.
Jenks is a graduate of Wake Forest-Rolesville who played his collegiate football at Elon University. He has also coached at Corinth-Holders and Wakefield at the high school level.
“It is an honor to be the next head coach of South Johnston High School,” Jenks said in a written statement. “It has been a lifelong goal to be a head football coach and I am thrilled that I will get this opportunity at South Johnston.”
