REAGAN NAMES NEW MEN’S HEAD BASKETBALL COACH
PFAFFTOWN—Jeff Overby has been named the new head basketball coach at Reagan High School, according to a report in the Winston-Salem Journal.
Overby will replace veteran head coach Howard West, who had announced his resignation to become the head coach at Forsyth Country Day.
Overby, age 45, is a long-time assistant under West, serving as an assistant at Reagan for the last eight years and for eight years before that as an assistant at R.J. Reynolds.
Overby is a 1986 graduate of North Forsyth and then graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1991.
The new Reagan coach is the son of the late Gene Overby, a long-time sportscaster in Winston-Salem who died in 1989.
