The OrthoCarolina Performance of the Month Awards for March 2026 in NCHSAA competition are Mallory Reed from Eastern Wayne and Brock Bumgardner from Cherryville.
Mallory Reed, Eastern Wayne
Reed, a senior pitcher and infielder, had a remarkable March — and spring season — for the Warriors both in the cirlce and at the plate. In March, she pitched 48 innings with an ERA of 0.93 and 142 strikeouts. In April, she recorded her 1,000th career strikeout. At the plate, she hit .736 with three doubles a home run and 10 RBIs.
Brock Bumgardner, Cherryville
Bumgardner, a junior pitcher and first baseman, had an outstanding month of March for the Ironman. At the plate, he slashed .378/.588/.714 with 18 RBIs. On the mound, he has totaled 16.1 innings pitched with a 1.10 ERA and 31 strikeouts. He has been an important part of Cherryville’s undefeated start to the 2026 season.
