PITTSBORO—Northwood High School has looked within the family for its new men’s head basketball coach, according to Northwood athletic director Jason Amy.
Veteran coach and teacher Brian Harrington will take over the reins of the men’s basketball program.
Harrington has been at Northwood for 18 years and has served as an assistant football coach throughout that entire tenure. He also has 10 years of working with track and field and 10 years in basketball.
He has coached at both the junior varsity and varsity levels in basketball during that 10-year period at Northwood, and has worked with both women’s and men’s basketball during that time.
Originally from Fayetteville, Harrington’s family moved to Chatham County when he was in the eighth grade and he actually is a graduate of Northwood.
