Northern Guilford Football Coach Retiring

GREENSBORO—Johnny Roscoe, who has been the head football coach at Northern Guilford High School since the school opened five years ago, has announced his retirement, according to the Greensboro News and Record.

Roscoe’s teams at Northern Guilford have won three consecutive North Carolina High School Athletic Association state titles. A native of Hartsville, S.C., Roscoe coached Hartsville High to a South Carolina state title in 1981 and also spent many years at Lancaster as football coach and athletic director.

A graduate of Guilford College, Roscoe’s coaching career spanned over 40 years and he was credited with 281 career victories.
