Apex Soccer Coach, Kevin Todd, Dies Suddenly

APEX, NC – Kevin Todd, the longtime men’s and women’s soccer coach at Apex High School passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 23 at the school. Todd suffered what Principal Elaine Hofmann termed “a medical event” at the school before passing at the hospital later that afternoon.

Todd led the Cougars men’s soccer team to the 2005 4A State Championship and two years later he repeated the feat with the women’s team in 2007. Both teams were unbeaten in their championship seasons. In 2007, he was selected as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s U.S. South Region High School Coach of the Year. He was the head soccer coach for the 2008 North Carolina team in the North Carolina-South Carolina All-Star Game.
