NCHSAA releases 2019-2020 Fall Wells Fargo Conference Cup Standings

The NCHSAA, in partnership with Wells Fargo, recognizes the top overall athletic program in each conference through the Wells Fargo Conference Cup. These competitions are based on conference finish with point distributions determined by each conference. The Wells Fargo Conference Cup is the companion of the Wells Fargo State Cup, which recognizes the top overall athletic program from each of the Association's four classifications. Below are the standings for the 2019-2020 Wells Fargo Conference Cup through the Fall season. 

Albemarle 1A – Manteo leads the Conference Cup standings through the Fall season thanks to a first-place finish in Men’s Soccer. They also finished second in Football, Women’s Tennis and both Men’s and Women’s Cross Country. Camden County and John A. Holmes are right on their heels, tied for second. Camden won conference championships in both Men’s and Women’s Cross Country while Holmes claimed conference titles in Football and Women’s Tennis.

The Eagles also finished second in Men’s Soccer this year to help edge second-place Princeton through a third of the sports season. Princeton is just a point behind Rosewood after a conference title in Volleyball and second-place finishes in Football and Men’s Cross Country.

Voyager Academy is in second place after winning a co-championship in Men’s Soccer and finishing second in Men’s Cross Country and Women’s Cross Country. The Patriots also tied for second in Women’s Tennis.

In third place in the Northwest 1A conference we have Mount Airy after winning a co-championship in men’s soccer and a second place finish in football.

Highland Tech is second thanks to a conference title in Women’s Golf and a runner-up spot in Men’s Cross Country. Third place belongs to Lincoln Charter who won Men’s Cross Country and Women’s Tennis titles while finishing second in Women’s Cross Country and Volleyball.

Dixon trails Croatan thanks to a conference championship in Men’s Soccer and a pair of third place finishes, one in Women’s Cross Country and the other in Women’s Tennis.

East Bladen is in third thanks to a conference title in Men’s Soccer.

Owen is close behind in second thanks to conference championships in Men’s Cross Country and Women’s Cross Country. They also tied for first in Women’s Tennis. Avery County is in third thanks to a conference championship in Women’s Golf.

Salisbury claimed a conference championship in Women’s Tennis and sits in third overall.

Hendersonville grabbed conference titles in Women’s Golf and Women’s Tennis while finishing as runner-up in Men’s Soccer as they land in second. Smoky Mountain holds third after winning the conference in Men’s Soccer and finishing as co-champions in Football and runner up in Women’s Golf.

West Carteret is not far behind with 33.5 points, West Carteret also won three conference championships in women’s golf, women’s cross country and tying with Jacksonville in volleyball.

Southern Alamance captured the conference title in Women’s Cross Country and were runner-up in Football. They also tied for second in Women’s Tennis. Southeast Guilford sits one point behind the leaders thanks to conference championships in Football and Women’s Golf.

Central Cabarrus is in second thanks to runner-up finishes in Women’s Cross Country and Women’s Golf. Northwest Cabarrus is third thanks to a co-championship in Football and runner-up spot in Men’s Cross Country.

The Vikings were also runner-up in Women’s Cross Country and Football. Harnett Central, Lee County and Triton are in a three-way tie for second. Harnett Central won the Women’s Cross Country conference title while finishing as the runner-up in Men’s Cross Country. Lee County won the conference championship in Football, grabbing a runner-up spot in Women’s Golf. Triton was the conference champion in Women’s Golf, finishing as the runner-up in Women’s Tennis and Men’s Soccer.
