HENDERSONVILLE—West Henderson High School’s baseball program has been a strong one for many years, and a number of Falcon achievements have just been added to the NCHSAA Record Book.
Former West coach Jim Hyatt, who is now the head coach at East Forsyth, provided the applications and documentation for some performance listings that date back to 1996. Over 30 different updates have been provided for the book.
Among the top marks reported are a new state mark for runs in a career. Josh Moore, who played for West Henderson from 2005 through ’08, scored 148 runs during his four years.
Casey Allison, who also played from 2005 through ’08, drove home 143 runs during his career to tie for first in the career RBI department, and he is also now third in career hits at 158.
Several top team batting averages were recorded, including a .432 mark as a team during the 2006 campaign and a .424 team batting average in 2007.
Jerry Brinkley was one of the top Falcon hitters during that ’06 season with a .547 batting mark himself, going 41 for 75.
Our thanks to Coach Hyatt for helping add to the NCHSAA Record Book.
