Andy Miller has been involved in just about every phase of high school athletics during his career. A 1947 of Western Carolina after attending Brevard High, Miller taught and coached at both Raleigh Broughton and Salisbury Boyden and then served as principal at both Brevard and Watauga. He was superintendent of the Buncombe County schools from 1978-87 after a stint as an education professor at Appalachian State. He served a term on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association and has been involved with its Hall of Fame Committee since its inception. He also officiated high school athletics for many years. Miller has also been involved with civic and church activities, including the Lions Club.
