MID STATE 3-A CONFERENCE MAKES DONATION TO FIGHT CANCER
EDEN– The Mid-State 3-A Athletic Conference has once again made a donation in the fight against cancer.
The conference voted to add a one-dollar surcharge to the admission to the conference basketball tournament back in February, and devotes one-half of the money taken in to the Jimmy V Fund and one-half to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
This year’s contributions to each of the funds was $1,188.50, so now close to $6,000 has been contributed to the Jimmy V Fund and almost $6,000 to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund since the 2009-10 academic year.
Member schools of the Mid-State Athletic Conference include Eastern Alamance, Eastern Guilford, McMichael, Morehead, Northern Guilford, Rockingham County, Western Alamance and Walter Williams.
We salute the member schools and the Mid-State 3-A for their generous donations in the fight against cancer.
