MAIDEN—Maiden High School has named Amber Vaughan as its new women’s basketball coach, according to various media reports including The Observer-News-Enterprise.
Vaughan is a former Lenoir-Rhyne University basketball standout, having played for LRU from 1999 to 2003. She scored over 1,000 points during her collegiate career after an outstanding career at Pulaski County High School in Virginia.
She will replace Katie Chapman, who resigned from the position after coaching the Maiden women’s program for four seasons. Her husband Bill is already on the faculty at Maiden and serves as defensive coordinator for the Maiden football team.
