TRYON—Long-time Polk County head football coach Bruce Ollis is headed south of the border, according to various media reports including the Hendersonville Times-News.
Bruce Ollis, who has guided the Wolverines for the past 12 years, has been approved as the new head coach at T.L. Hanna High School in South Carolina.
Ollis helped build Polk County into an excellent football program, developing consistency to a point that his teams won at least eight games every season for the last 11 years. The Wolverines were 9-4 during the 2013 campaign, losing to perennial power Reidsville 27-19 in the second round of the NCHSAA state playoffs.
Ollis also had a stint as an assistant coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
