BREVARD—Jason Lippard has been named the new head football coach at Brevard, according to the Asheville Citizen-Times.
Lippard, age 30, comes to Brevard after two seasons as head coach at North Stokes. Prior to that Lippard was an assistant at South Iredell and Statesville.
Lippard will replace Jeff Bailey, who coached at Brevard for three seasons while his teams posted a 6-28 mark. Brevard won a conference championship in 2007 but is 18-40 since then and went 0-11 last year.
The newspaper noted that administrators and coaches have conceded that the loss of manufacturing jobs in Transylvania has not only taken a toll on Brevard’s enrollment numbers, but its athletic programs as well.
Lippard noted that his Brevard team would run the spread with “air-raid characteristics.”
