KIEFER LEAVING TUSCOLA
WAYNESVILLE— The Asheville Citizen-Times has reported that Donnie Kiefer is leaving the head football coaching job at Tuscola to become the head coach at Central Cabarrus, his high school alma mater.
Kiefer is a 1975 graduate of Central Cabarrus and played on the first conference championship team in school history.
Kiefer compiled a 39-24-1 mark in five seasons at the Tuscola helm and has developed a reputation for turning around football programs at several stops across the state. His teams have won 191 games during his career.
Tuscola officials have indicated that they would like to be able to name a new head coach by April 1.
