SWANNANOA—Veteran head football coach Kenny Ford has announced his retirement and will be stepping down from his coaching position at Charles D. Owen High School, according to a report in the Asheville Citizen-Times.

         Ford has coached for 29 years and saw his teams notch 230 victories and 14 conference championships.  A graduate of Charles D Owen, he has been coaching at his alma mater since 1985.

He will be retiring effective at the end of the school year, according to the newspaper report.
