JACKSONVILLE—Doug Erny has been named as the new head men’s basketball coach at Jacksonville High School, according to the Jacksonville Daily News.

Erny is a 1983 graduate of Jacksonville who coached at Lejeune for 23 years, winning more than 400 games there, before resigning last June.

A graduate of East Carolina University, Erny spent last year as athletic director and teacher at Brewster Middle School at Camp Lejeune. He will remain at Brewster while he coaches at Jacksonville.

        The Cardinals were 10-16 last year under interim coach James Jordan.
