CHAPEL HILL— Davis Whitfield, commissioner of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, announced today the appointment of two new members to the NCHSAA Board of Directors.

       The interim appointments were approved by the Nominating Committee of the NCHSAA due to retirements of Board members and are for one year.

       Teresa Evans, principal of North Iredell High School, has been appointed to a position representing Region 7, previously held by principal Sally Bradshaw of Fred T. Foard High School in Catawba County. Ron Butler, athletic director for the Pitt County schools, has been appointed to an interim post representing Region 1. Butler will replace Herman Little of Elizabeth City Northeastern on the Board.

       “We look forward to the contributions of Teresa and Ron on our Board for this year and believe they will do an outstanding job,” said Whitfield. “We wish Sally and Herman the best in their future endeavors and appreciate their work on behalf of the young people of North Carolina on the Board.”
