APEX—Bonnie Hodge has announced that she is retiring as head softball coach at Apex High School, according to a report in the Raleigh News and Observer.

         Hodge guided the Apex team to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A semifinals, where the Cougars lost in the regional series.

         She coached the team for 12 years at Apex with a record of 209-55 and coached at Apex Middle School for 17 years.
