Hickory Standout Puts Name In Three-point Records

HICKORY—A Hickory High School basketball standout has put his name in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book.

Raheim Connolly of Hickory helped lead the Red Tornadoes to a 93-90 overtime victory over Fred T. Foarad in men’s basketball action on Tuesday night, and he was terrific from beyond the three-point arc.

Connolly tied the state record with seven three-pointers in one quarter—he hit his in the first eight minutes of play. He wound up with nine three-pointers for the game and a total of 32 points.
