Hall of Fame Coach Harold Robinson Remembered for a Lifetime of Leadership and Legacy

Coach Harold Robinson, Jr., 76, of Washington, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Ridgewood Health and Rehabilitation.

A legendary figure in North Carolina high school football, Robinson led Williamston High School from 1979 to 2003, earning a .711 winning percentage, two NCHSAA state titles, four runner-up finishes, seven conference championships, and 16 playoff appearances.

He joined the East Carolina University football staff in 2004 as Director of High School Relations. He was inducted into the NCHSAA Hall of Fame in 2022 for his outstanding impact on the sport. A three-time ECU graduate, Robinson earned degrees in health and physical education and school administration.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 17, at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church (DOC) in Washington. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.
