Former Rose Rampant Big In Thursday Night Nfl Football

A former Most Valuable Player in a North Carolina High School Athletic Association state football championship burst on to the national stage in a big way on Thursday night.

Andre Brown of the New York Giants made his return to the Tar Heel state a successful one, running for a career high 113 yards on 20 carries as the Giants rolled past the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte by a 36-7 score.

Brown is in his third year of professional football after playing collegiately at North Carolina State. He has actually been on the rosters of the Panthers, Broncos, Colts and Redskins in addition to the Giants.

Back in 2003, Brown rushed for three touchdowns and a whopping 270 yards in 27 carries to power Greenville Rose to a big 51-7 triumph over Winston-Salem Mount Tabor in the NCHSAA state 4-A football championship at Groves Stadium in Winston-Salem.

Brown was the Wendy’s Most Valuable Player as the Rampants rolled up 374 yards rushing on the day.
