Former N.c. State Player To Coach Basketball At Fuquay-varina

FUQUAY-VARINA—Danny Strong, a former basketball player at North Carolina State University, has been named the new men’s basketball coach at Fuquay-Varina, according to the Raleigh News and Observer.

Strong replaces Randy Barrow, who has coached at Fuquay-Varina for the last five seasons. The Bengals struggled through a tough 1-21 season this past year.

Strong completed his Wolfpack career back in 1997 and has played professional basketball overseas in Europe for some 15 years. He will be on staff as a teacher’s assistant at Fuquay-Varina.

The former N.C. State player has previously served as an assistant coach at Southeast Raleigh.
