DALE JARRETT HONORED WITH KEY TO CITY
CONOVER—Former NASCAR star and current television commentator Dale Jarrett, who was born and raised in Conover and resides there today, has been honored with the key to the city by the Conover Town Council, according to a report in The Observer-News-Enterprise.
According to the paper, Jarrett said, “It makes me proud to know that people that I have known and went to school with are still taking care of this great community that we have. I’m proud to still be a resident here.”
Jarrett was an outstanding high school athlete at Newton-Conover High School, quarterbacking the football team while also playing basketball and baseball as well as being an outstanding golfer.
