Women’s basketball standout Naheria Hamilton of Eastern Wayne High School has earned a couple of places in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book.
A recent record application has just been approved for both blocked shots in a game as well as blocked shots in a season.
The junior was credited with a whopping 19 blocks on January 6 of this year as Eastern Wayne defeated Greenville Rose by a 69-50 count. That number contributed to her 174 for the season.
The 19 in a game is just one off the state record of 20 by Bayley Plummer of East Davidson, which she has done twice, and the 174 in the season is a performance listing in the top ten in that category.
We appreciate coach Philemon Gray of Eastern Wayne submitting the information and documentation for consideration, and we congratulate Naheria Hamilton for her performance!
