PILOT MOUNTAIN—East Surry High School remained unbeaten on the baseball season and veteran head coach Barry Hall reached a major milestone on Friday night.
East Surry rallied to beat Walkertown 4-2 in a Northwest Conference game, earning coach Hall his 700th career victory, which is second all-time behind Greenville Rose’s Ron Vincent and the most baseball victories ever by a North Carolina High School Athletic Association baseball coach at one school.
East Surry trailed 2-0 but came back with four runs in the sixth to run its record to 22-0. Tyler Marion earned the pitching victory for his eighth victory against no losses.
Congratulations to Coach Hall and our thanks to East Surry for informing us of the achievement!
