SALISBURY—A couple of East Rowan football players who had excellent seasons and careers have earned performance listings in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book.
The Wyrick brothers, wide receiver Seth and quarterback Samuel, were key cogs in the East Rowan team that made a deep run in the NCHSAA playoffs.
Seth had 180 receptions for his career, good for eighth all-time, and finished with 2,859 receiving yards during his three-year career.
His single season receptions of 102 for the ’14 campaign and 1,622 yards also made those lists. His 1,622 receiving yards for the season is ninth all-time.
Samuel finished his career with 6,605 passing yards, including 3,301 for this season. In a playoff game against South Point, he completed 34 of 53 passes.
Congratulations to both Seth and Samuel Wyrick and thanks to coach Kenneth McClamrock for documenting these performances.
